Ola Ohlarians! We are ecstatic to announce Ohloh Community Day 2014 — OCD14!!
The idea for OCD14 came from Ohlarian Marc Laporte. Marc will be near the Black Duck Offices in attendance of the LibrePlanet 2014 Conference and asked if we could gather folks to talk about Ohloh and Open Source. We thought it was a smashing idea: Kudos Marc!
Ergo, OCD14 on Monday, March 24, 2014 at the Black Duck office in Burlington, MA. Tickets are free, free, free and available online, but in limited quantity, so please don’t hesitate!
Here’s what we’re planning:
Let’s start the day off around 9 AM with coffee and light breakfast items. We’ll have the Ohloh product and development team members talk briefly about what’s new in Ohloh and some of the deep, secret internals. We’d like to hear from everyone who’d be willing to share about what they use Ohloh for, what they like, what they don’t and what they want most from Ohloh.
We’ll provide lunch and get into discussions about Open Source and Ohloh. Things like, “what makes a good open source project, and how does one tell?” and “what can we do to help folks who want to use open source?” We even thought of doing some quick clean up of Ohloh in a group setting to address those little annoyances present in the site.
We’ll end the day with beer (and other beverages), naturally.
Our goals are to listen to what the Ohloh and larger Open Source community has to say, acknowledge that Ohloh is an open, user maintained site and thank all who have helped keep Ohloh up to date and relevant, and make sure we are providing the best possible information, analysis and user experience we can provide.
Please come and join us. We’d love to have you. Again, tickets are free and available online, but in limited quantity.
